Summer Camp Theatre Instructor – Early Childhood Education Focus
Start Date: June 24th, 2019
Hourly Rate: $16.00
Number of Weeks: 9 + training
Training: June 24-27, 2019
Minimum hours per week: 35
Maximum Hours per week: 40

Job Description:

Liberty Junction Theatre Inc. is looking for a friendly, upbeat and responsible young adult to lead young children in our Musical Theatre Camp Experience. This individual should have a good foundation of Early Childhood Education Principles as well as a passion to teach young children 4-12 years old. This individual should possess excellent communication skills, patience and should have ideas for crafts, games and relate well to parents. This individual will also be responsible for collaborating with the other instructors to develop games and exercises that coincide with the weekly camp themes.

Other Requirements: To be eligible for this position (and our government funding,) we require the following:
a.) Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
b.) is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
c.) is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations
d.) Must be present for Training: June 24-27, 2019 (Training Held in Mississauga)
e.) Must have a completed vulnerable persons screening check certificate
f.) Must have completed High School Diploma

Job Description:

Liberty Junction Theatre Inc. is looking for a friendly, upbeat and responsible young adult to lead young children in our Musical Theatre Camp Experience. This individual should have a good foundation of Theatre and Acting Foundations, as well as a passion to teach young children 4-12 years old. This individual should have excellent communication skills, patience and conflict resolution skills. This individual should be highly capable in teaching improv to children, leading acting exercises, directing scenes, and the basics of stage presence.  This individual should be an effective communicator, possess excellent oral communication skills and be a huge initiative taker. This individual will also be responsible for collaborating with the other Instructors to develop games and exercises that coincide with the weekly camp themes.
